Experience the art, science and beauty of Classical fencing at the Grand Assault of Arms, now in its 23rd year; it’s like stepping back into the 19th century. The annual Grand Assault of Arms is a test of skill among classical fencers. Classical fencing predates and is different from the modern form ones sees in the Olympics today. The program includes informative demonstrations as well as spirited bouts with foil, dueling sword & 18th century small-sword.
The concept of the Grand Assault developed in the early 1870’s during France’s gilded age, La Belle Epoque, and was wildly popular and well attended. It is in this spirit that we host this event at St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn, NY.
Tickets are required for entry, space is limited.
